Beeman's Fifth-Place Run Paces Women's Cross Country at Little Three Championship

BUFFALO – Sydney Beeman paced the St. Bonaventure women's cross country team as the Bonnies season opened up Friday evening at Delaware Park in the Little Three Championship.

St. Bonaventure placed third with 49 points. Niagara took the victory with 32 points while host Canisius was second at 39 points.

Beeman started her senior campaign with a fifth-place overall finish as she crossed the finish line in a 5K time of 19:59.6.

Three Bonaventure runners came across the stripe all together in ninth through 11th places. Sophomore Theresa Dristle was the leader of the trio as she clocked in at 20:39. Junior Samantha Henry was next at 20:44.9 while freshman Emma Larkman made a strong debut at 20:49.4.

Second-year runner Morgan Evarts gave the Bonnies a 14th-place finish with her time of 20:58.9 while junior Stephanie Barry ran the course in 21:02.4 and sophomore Amberlee Robertson completed the team's top seven with a run of 21:07.7.

Next up for the Bonnies is another trip to Buffalo for the Stampede Invitational Sept. 13.
