Women's Cross Country Turns in Solid Showing at Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The St. Bonaventure women's cross country team finished sixth out of 30 squads competing at the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday morning.

Reigning Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week Emily Izydorczak again was at the head of the field for the Brown and White, finishing 15th overall out of 318 runners with her 6K time of 23:39.1.

Sydney Beeman was able to continue her season of improvement, taking second on the team with a time of 24:42.2, finishing 47th overall. Her time was four seconds faster than the time she ran on the course that winds through the Gettysburg National Military Park a year ago.

Samantha Henry came across the finish line in 24:56.6, good for third on the team and 59th overall.

Christine Walsh (25:12.5) and Natalie Cummings (25:18.3) finished fourth and fifth on the team with Cummings surpassing her previous PR time set in this event a year ago by over 20 seconds.

Displacers for the Bonnies were Stephanie Barry (25:19.7) and Theresa Dristle (25:33.0).

The Bonnies will host the Tom Hagen Memorial Alumni Race on campus Saturday, Oct. 20 as the program welcomes back all of its alumni for the weekend. The next official race will see the team travel to Richmond, Va. for the Atlantic 10 Championship in two weeks.
