WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Senior Emily Izydorczak's strong run highlighted race day for the St. Bonaventure women's cross country team Friday morning at the West Point Invitational.
Izydorczak completed the challenging 5.6K course in a time of 21:37.0 to take 26th overall in a field of 71 runners from Temple, George Washington, Army West Point and Manhattan along with the Bonnies. Her average mile time was 6:12.
Junior Sydney Beeman maintained the strong momentum she had going following an impressive performance in the season-opening Little Three Championship by running a time of 22:27.5, finishing 40th overall. She also had an average mile time of 6:27.
It was a great morning for the young members of the Bonnies.
Junior Christine Walsh made her season debut, taking a spot in the scoring for the Bonnies with her effort of 23:12.7.
The Bonnies are back in action at the Anderson Invitational on Sept. 22. The team finished second in that event last season.
