AMHERST, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women's track team returned to competition at the UB Invitational Saturday afternoon, recording four new top-10 program times.
Bona's best event of the day was the 5000 meters. Theresa Dristle and Samantha Henry each ran near the front of the pack, finishing fifth and sixth respectively out of 31 competitors. Dristle led the Bonnies with her time of 19:23.27, besting her previous career-best by five seconds and clocking in with the fifth-fastest individual time in Bona history. Just behind was Samantha Henry who crossed the finish line in 19:24.68, good for sixth in the program record books. Emma Larkman gave the team another top-10 individual all-time mark with her effort of 19:43.50, good for 10th in program history.
In all, four Bonnies set personal record times in the 5000.
Morgan Evarts also PR'ed in the 1500, posting a time of 5:12.27 which will move her to ninth in program history for the event.
The Bonnies are back in action with another trip to UB Friday afternoon.
