BUFFALO, N.Y. – Emily Izydorczak continued her strong week by breaking the St. Bonaventure women's track record in the 3000 meters as the Bonnies competed in cold and wet conditions at the Buffalo Invitational Saturday.
Izydorczak crossed the finish line in a time of 10:46.11, beating her own record by more than a second. She previously ran a 10:47.41 at the same event last year to take the mark for the first time.
After winning the 3000 meters at the Alfred Invitational at 10:49.35 on Monday, she took fourth place on Saturday behind only Stephanie Ward, who won running unattached at 9:55.23, Morgan Mahoney of Buffalo (10:12.06) and Aileen Doyle of Canisius (10:30.60).
Also in the 3000, Samantha Henry finished 11th at 11:36.32, a personal best time. She surpassed the 11:43.03 she turned in Monday to break her previous PR with ease. Kristin Reynolds and Ania Rzepka also PR'ed in the event as well.
Next up for the Bonnies are Atlantic 10 Championships in Fairfax, Va. next weekend.
