ALFRED, N.Y. – Junior Emily Izydorczak dominated the 3000 meters to highlight the day of competition for the St. Bonaventure women's track team under brilliant sunny skies Monday afternoon at the Alfred Invitational.

The Bona women turned in a strong showing overall, tying for sixth with Canisius at 40 team points despite running fewer events. Niagara won the overall competition with 176 team points while Alfred (110) and Buffalo State (104) followed.

Izydorczak ran a time of 10:49.35 to pace the field by a wide margin in the 3000-meter event as the second place time clocked in at 11:15.47 with Niagara's Stephanie Webster. Izydorczak's time was easily the best of the season for the Bonnies in the 3000 meters and just off her program record time of 10:47.41 set last year – she is also the only Bonnie to break the 11-minute mark in the event, doing so for the second time on Monday.

Also in the 3000 meters, Samantha Henry took third with a personal record time of 11:43.03.

Fellow junior Rachel Guyer also had another strong day. After setting program records this past Saturday, she maintained her momentum with a PR in the 1500 meters, taking second at 4:55.91 and was just behind the winning time from Canisius' Mary Manzari (4:53.88). Guyer's time is the third best in program history for the 1500.

In the 800 meters, Natalie Cummings gave the Bonnies another podium finish by taking third at 2:30.12.

In all, the Bonnies set seven personal records.

The Bonnies return to action this Saturday at the University at Buffalo.
