ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Emily Izydorczak's strong performance in the 5,000 meters highlighted the day of competition for the St. Bonaventure women's outdoor track team Sunday at the ROC City Track and Field Invitational.
The Bonnies sophomore finished third in a field of 40 runners with her 5000-meter time of 18:38.53, being just nipped by the second-place finisher's mark of 18:38.25. Izydorczak's time is a personal best, clearing her time of 18:42.05 set at the Geneseo Invite last weekend. For reference, Izydorczak's Sunday time would rank third all-time in the program's cross country 5K individual times with only Kady Weisner's 2013 mark of 18:25.9 and Kerry Caher's 2014 time of 17:34.3 coming in ahead.
In the 1,500 meters, sophomore Rachel Guyer finished 12th out of 65 competitors by registering a time of 4:59.80. Guyer's time was also a personal best as she cracked the five-minute mark for the first time in the 1,500 meters.
St. Bonaventure returns to action Friday, April 21 at the Cortland Invite.
