St. Bonaventure Women’s Tennis Dominates La Salle, 7-0

PHILADELPHIA – The St. Bonaventure women's tennis team began its trip to the City of Brotherly Love with a dominating victory over the La Salle Explorers, as the Bonnies earned a clean sweep.   

The Bonnies would begin the day with a strong outing in doubles play to earn the first point of the day. In the first doubles match, Marisa Brossard and Mara Martinez-Santori paired up again and defeated their opponents, by a score of 8-1. The duo of Brossard and Martinez-Santori has combined for 10 wins and are 2-0 in conference. Clinching the point for the Bonnies was Francesca Chin and Fatya Amiri, who defeated their duo 8-0.

All six of the Bonnies that competed in singles on Saturday won in straight sets. Chin and Martinez-Santori didn't allow a single point from their opponents, while Dominique Mortier only dropped two games in her two-set match. With wins for Amiri, Brossard and Mariam Skhirtladze, they all now have won at least 10 individual matches this year.

The Bonnies now sit at 6-11 overall and 1-2 in the Atlantic 10. They will meet Saint Joseph's tomorrow (Sunday, April 12) to wrap up their regular season schedule.
