GENEVA, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming team began the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championships with a pair of relays Wednesday evening at the SPIRE Institute.
The Brown and White currently sit in eighth place with 48 points after the first day of competition. Davidson leads the competition with 80 points while Richmond (68 points) and Duquesne (64 points) round out the top three.
The Bonnies began the conference championship meet with a fourth-place finish in the 200-medley relay. The team of Zanre Oberholzer, Rachel Kimmel, Katrina Wardner and Hayley Tasselmyer won their heat, turning in a time of 1:43.75.
In the final event of the evening, Wardner, Kimmel and Tasselmyer were joined by Claire Schaef in the 800-freestyle relay, swimming to a ninth-place finish with a time of 7:39.24.
The Bonnies are back in the pool Thursday morning with preliminaries beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Bona diving team will also begin its A-10 Championship meet Thursday at George Mason with the 3-meter diving event.
