NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure University women's swimming sophomore Rachel Kimmel has earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team, conference officials announced Thursday.

Kimmel is a journalism and mass communication major with a cumulative GPA of 3.827.

Kimmel broke her own St. Bonaventure program records that she set last season at the A-10 Championships. In the 100-breaststroke, Kimmel swam a time of 1:01.24 to win the silver medal. She went on to shatter her record in the 200-breaststroke by three seconds, turning in a time of 2:12.85 for her second silver medal.

In the 400-medley relay, Kimmel teamed up with Zanre Oberholzer, Mia Cote and Katrina Wardner to earn a bronze medal, swimming a time of 3:41.98.

A native of Fort Loudon, Pa., Kimmel has won five medals at the A-10 Championships for the Bonnies in two seasons.
