Bonnies Visit The Spire Institute For 2020 Atlantic 10 Championships

ATLANTIC 10 SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming and diving team travels to Geneva, Ohio for the 2020 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships at the Spire Institute. The four-day event kicks off Wednesday, Feb. 19 and runs through Saturday, Feb. 22.

The Bonnies earned their first wins of the dual meet season in a tri-meet against Le Moyne and Colgate. Bona defeated Le Moyne, 254-58, and took down Colgate, 234-79.

St. Bonaventure then won three out of four dual meets at the Atlantic 10 Classic at the Spire Institute. The Bonnies defeated A-10 foes La Salle, Saint Louis and George Mason at the November meet.

In the Bonnies' first home meet of the season Nov. 15, the Brown and White dominated Little Three rival Canisius, 162.5-80.5.

The Bonnies capped off the dual meet season with back-to-back victories over Binghamton and Niagara. St. Bonaventure took down Binghamton on Senior Day at the Reilly Center Pool, 188-112, and took to the road to defeat the Purple Eagles, 141-98.

Katrina Wardner, Claire Schaef, Zanre Oberholzer, Rachel Kimmel, Mia Cote and Elena Rohr all hold top times and scores for the Bonnies this season. Wardner holds top times in the 50-freestyle (23.93), 100-freestyle (51.32), 200-freestyle (1:51.48), 200-IM (2:03.25) and the 400-IM (4:23.91). Schaef holds top marks in the 500-freestyle (5:01.04), 1000-freestyle (10:22.53) and the 1650-freestyle (17:06.65).

On the diving boards, Elena Rohr has top marks on both boards, posting a 247.35 on the 1-meter board and a 242.70 on the 3-meter. Oberholzer is on top in the 100-backstroke (55.90) and the 200-backstroke (2:00.78). Cote holds top times in the 100-butterfly (55.46) and the 200-butterfly (2:03.26).

Kimmel has top times in the 100-breaststroke (1:02.42) and the 200-breaststroke (2:16.36). She set program records in both the 100 and 200-breaststroke last season at the Atlantic 10 Championships.

The Bonnies are looking to get back into the top five at the A-10 Championships after finishing fifth during the 2017-18 season.
