AKRON, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming team completed action at the Zippy Invite Sunday evening, finishing fifth overall.
Host Akron captured the crown with 741 team points while Oakland was second (1,731 points) Cornell third (1,441) and Cincinnati fourth (1,317).
Action at the Zippy Invite got underway Friday morning.
Wardner claimed fifth in the 400-IM "A" final, finishing with a time of 4:28.55 on day of the invite. The junior also swam to a seventh-place finish in the 200-freestyle, ringing in at 1:54.52.
Kimmel grabbed fourth place in the 100-breaststroke "A" final, finishing in 1:02.42. Also scoring in the top-10 Saturday for the Bonnies was Mia Cote who took sixth place in the 100-butterfly, coming in at 55.46.
On the final day of competition, Kimmel led the Bonnies with a fourth-place finish in the 200-breaststroke, clocking in at 2:16.36. Also earning a top-five finish for Bona was Oberholzer in the 2:01.23, finishing in fifth place in the 200-backstroke.
The Bona divers return to the pool Jan. 10-12 at the UB Diving Invitational. The Bonnies swimming teams are back in action at the Reilly Center Pool January 20 when they host Binghamton.
