ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women's swimming and diving team won 12 out of 13 events to cruise to a 162.5-80.5 victory over Canisius Friday evening at the Reilly Center Pool.
The Bonnies kicked things off with a victory in the first event as Oberholzer led teammates Kimmel, Cote and Carrig to victory in the 400-medley relay with a time of 3:59.59. In the same event, Beth Thomas led Emerson Graham, Erin Carmody, and Maria Mangini to second place, touching the pad at 4:09.91.
Warder then took first in the 200-freestyle, touching the wall at 1:57.39. Cote finished third with a time of 1:59.49. Wardner captured another win on the evening in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:09.96.
In the 100-breaststroke, Kimmel turned in a time of 1:04.71 to win the event. Kimmel also won the 200-IM, finishing with an effort of 2:10.14.
Cote grabbed a victory in the 100-butterfly (58.11) and Janssen took first in the 50-freestyle (24.56).
Rohr dominated the diving boards, taking first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with total scores of 246.075 and 238.575, respectively. In the 3-meter dive, senior Izzy Aguilera captured second place with 237.9 points.
The Bonnies are back in action Thursday, Nov. 21 when they will head to Morgantown, West Va. to compete at the WVU Diving Invitational. The swimming team gets back in the pool Dec. 6-8 at the Zippy Invite in Akron, Ohio.
