ITHACA, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming and diving team won eight events but it was not enough as the Bonnies were defeated by Cornell, 164-136, Saturday afternoon in Ithaca, N.Y.
Kimmel's first win came in the 100-breaststroke, where she turned in a time of 1:04.00 to win the event. She followed that by winning the 200-breaststroke to sweep both breaststroke events, just as she did a week ago at the Atlantic 10 Classic, clocking in at 2:20.19.
Wardner won back-to-back events, earning her first win in the 100-butterfly with a time of 58.05. Minutes later in the 200-IM, the junior swam a victorious time of 2:07.40.
Also claiming individual victories for the Bonnies were Claire Schaef, Mia Cote, Ivana Janssen and Zanre Oberholzer. Schaef won the 1000-freestyle in 10:37.93 while Mia Cote took first in the 200-butterfly, ringing in at 2:08.35. Janssen followed Cote by winning the very next event, earning the win in the 50-freestyle with a time of 24.48. Oberholzer was victorious in the 200-backstroke, finishing with a mark of 2:07.05.
The Bonnies are back in action Friday, Nov. 15 when they host Canisius to the Reilly Center Pool. Diving will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the swimming portion of the meet will start at 4:00 p.m.
