The St. Bonaventure women's swimming and diving team travels to Ithaca, New York on Saturday for a dual meet against the Cornell Big Red. The meet is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies last swam at the Atlantic 10 Classic from Nov. 2 to Nov. 3 where they went 3-1 on the weekend. SBU defeated La Salle 195-156, Saint Louis 180.5-172.5 and George Mason 185-161. The sole loss came to Duquesne by a score of 194-158.
Katrina Wardner lead the way for the Bonnies winning both the 200-IM with a time of 2:05.95 and the 400-IM with a 4:28.24 finish.
Rachel Kimmel won the 200-breaststroke finishing at 2:17.98. Kimmel also won the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:03.28.
Mia Cote placed second in the 100-butterfly, touching the pad at 58.17.
Ivana Janssen finished the 50-freestyle at 24.37, good for second place.
In the 1650 freestyle, Claire Schaef placed third 17:45.36.
Zanre Oberholzer teamed up with Cote, Kimmel and Wardner for first place finishes in both the 200-medley relay (1:47.35) and the 400-medley relay (3:52.63).
LAST SEASON'S MATCHUP
Last year the Bonnies and the Big Red faced off at the Riley Center Pool where Cornell went home with a 137-103 win.
At the meet, Wardner won the 200-IM (208.39), Kimmel won the 100-breaststroke (103.97) and Janssen won the 50-freestyle (24.28).
PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
The efforts of Wardner at the Atlantic 10 Classic earned her A-10 performer of the week. This is the second time Wardner earned this recognition, the first being on Oct. 15.
The Bonnies will have their first home meet of the year next as they face Canisius on Friday, Nov. 15. Diving starts at 1:00 p.m. and swimming will follow at 4:00 p.m.
