HAMILTON, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming and diving team swept first place in all eight events to earn a pair of wins Saturday at the Justin Jennings Memorial Invitational.
For the weekend, the Bonnies triumphed in 15 of 16 events.
The Bonnies took down host Colgate, 234-79, while also defeating Le Moyne, 254-58.
Leading the way for the Bonnies was junior Katrina Wardner who won three individual events on the afternoon. A native of Orchard Park, N.Y., Wardner was victorious in the 100-freestyle (53.71), the 100-butterfly (59.20) and the 200-IM (2:08.54). In the 100-butterfly, Wardner was the only swimmer at the meet to post a time under one minute.
Oberholzer grabbed first in the 200-backstroke, clocking in at 2:09.39 and Kimmel followed by winning the 200-breaststroke, finishing in 2:19.20. Schaef turned in a time of 5:18.11 in the 500-freestyle to claim first place. Aguilera earned the win on the 3-meter diving board, posting a score of 209.17.
The Bonnies are back in action Nov. 4-5 at the Atlantic 10 Invitational. That meet will take place at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
