Bonnies Tied For Fifth After Day One Of A-10 Championships

ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

GENEVA, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming and diving team kicked off the 2019 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships Wednesday evening in Geneva, Ohio.

The Bonnies currently sit tied for fifth in the team standings with 50 points. George Mason and UMass also have 50 points apiece. Duquesne leads after day one, followed by Fordham, George Washington and Richmond.

The quartet of Zanre Oberholzer, Rachel Kimmel, Mia Cote and Ivana Janssen turned in a fifth-place finish in the 200-medley relay, finishing in 1:42.40, to lead the Bonnies.

In the 800-freestyle relay to close out the first night of competition, Wardner, Cote, Rachel Taylor and Claire Schaef posted an eighth-place finish, clocking in at 7:30.43.

Action resumes Thursday morning will preliminary events starting at 10:00 a.m.
