ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming and diving team won 11 out of 13 events on the way to a 132.5-74.5 victory over the Niagara Purple Eagles Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center Pool.
Brittany Hart celebrated Senior Day by winning both diving competitions. She scored a 280.42 on the 1-meter board and won the 3-meter dive with a total score of 295.95.
In the 200-freestyle, the Bonnies swept the top three spots with Cote (1:59.12) finishing in first, Rachel Taylor (1:59.31) narrowly in second and Kimmel took third (2:01.20).
Ivana Janssen captured the win in the 50-freestyle with a mark of 24.47. Winning by nearly four seconds in the 200-IM was Katrina Wardner, who finished in 2:13.91 for the SBU victory. Wardner picked up her second win of the day in the 500-freestyle, as she swam a time of 5:14.61.
Cote doubled up in individual wins with the victory in the 100-butterfly, clocking in at 58.39 to win the event. Also winning a second event on the day was Janssen. She posted a time of 54.53 in the 100-freestyle to win for the Bonnies.
Oberholzer and Tayler Gnan kept the scoring going for the Brown and White, taking first and second in the 100-backstroke. Oberholzer clocked in at 1:00.56 while Gnan turned in a time of 1:02.12.
The Bonnies are now off until Wednesday, Feb. 20 when they begin the 2019 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships, a four-day event held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
