AKRON, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming team concluded action at the Zippy Invite hosted by Akron University Sunday afternoon.
The Bonnies finished the invitational in eighth overall with 411 team points ahead of Clarion in ninth place and Niagara in 10th. Host Akron won the invitational with 2,093 team points.
On the final day of action, a seventh-place finish in the 200-butterfly from sophomore Mia Cote paced the Bonnies. Cote posted a time of 2:02.97, securing seventh.
Freshman Rachel Kimmel added to her impressive invitational placings by finishing 11th in the 200-breaststroke, clocking in at 2:20.72.
Fellow freshman Claire Schaef posted a top-10 finish in the 1,650-freestyle to start the afternoon session. Schaef finished with a time of 17:22.04, good enough for ninth.
The Bonnies swimming and diving team is off for the holidays and will return to action Sunday, Jan. 20 when they host Cornell at the Reilly Center Pool.
