AKRON, Ohio – A second place finish in the 100-breaststroke from freshman Rachel Kimmel paced the St. Bonaventure University women's swimming team at the Akron Zippy Invite Saturday.
The Bonnies remain in ninth place with 273 team points, while Akron sits atop the team leaderboard after day two.
Kimmel registered a time of 1:03.07, finishing just 0.33 seconds behind first place. The freshman teamed up with Zanre Oberholzer, Mia Cote and Ivana Janssen for a ninth-place finish in the 200-medley relay, posting a time of 1:44.96.
Cote won the "B" final heat and finished in ninth place overall in the 100-butterfly, clocking in at 55.26.
The Bonnies conclude action at the Zippy Invite with two more sessions Sunday. Session one will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the final session is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
