ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming and diving team swept all 13 events Saturday afternoon against Colgate en route to a 165.5-77.5 victory at the Reilly Center Pool. Freshman Claire Schaef led the way, winning three individual races.
Katrina Wardner, Ivana Janssen and Brittany Hart each won two individual events for the Bonnies. Wardner grabbed first in the 200-freestyle (2:00.22) and the 200-IM (2:10.65) while Janssen captured the win in the 50-freestyle (24.20) and the 100-freestyle (53.83). Hart swept both diving boards, posting a 233.17 total score on the 1-meter board and a mark of 238.27 on the 3-meter diving board.
Also winning individual events for the Bonnies were Tayler Gnan and Rachel Kimmel. Gnan earned first in the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:11.35 and Kimmel took the 200-breaststroke, clocking in at 2:20.06.
The Bonnies opened the meet by winning the 400-medley relay behind the team of Kelsey Cordery, Mia Cote, Janssen and Kimmel with a winning time of 3:54.76. In the 400-freestyle relay, the Bonnies team of Zanre Oberholzer, Wardner, Taylor and Cote seized first place, ringing in at 3:42.70.
The Bonnies return to action Oct. 27-28 at the Atlantic 10 Classic at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
