This will be the first action for Buffalo after the holiday break as well. The Bonnies and the Bulls previously competed against each other in December at the Zippy Invite in Akron, Ohio. Buffalo finished second with 1,534.5 total points. Buffalo is 3-0 in dual meets this season with wins over Cornell, Toledo and Ohio.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies last saw action at the Zippy Invite at Akron University Dec. 1-3. The team finished sixth in the standings accumulating 692 points throughout the three day meet. It was a historic meet for the Brown and White in which the team saw three program records fall. Freshman Lina Kutsko clocked in at 53.86 in the 100-butterfly, shattering her own record of 54.86 she previously set on Oct. 20. Kutsko also broke the program record in the 100-freestyle finishing with a time of 50.14. The 200-medley relay team of Kutsko, Devon McFadden, Maria Rocchi and Katrina Wardner swam a 1:43.64, also breaking the previous Bonnies record that had stood since 2011. McFadden now owns three individual program records and is part of two relay records while Kutsko holds three individual records and has been a part of one relay record team.
NO DAYS OFF
The women's swimming and diving team took little time off during the holiday break. The diving team took part in a holiday competition in Coral Springs, Fla. against West Virginia, North Texas, Ohio and Cincinnati. The swimming team traveled to the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio to continue their training over the holiday break.
The Bonnies will be back in action Saturday when they host Binghamton at the Reilly Center Pool as part of a busy weekend of action. Diving is set to kick off at 10:00 a.m. and the swimming portion of the meet will begin at 1:00. Before the swimming events, St. Bonaventure will honor its five seniors Devon McFadden, Maria Rocchi, Emily Wulff, Alyssa Levac and Michaela Ryan as they swim in their final home meet for the Brown and White.
