ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. -- The St. Bonaventure University women's swimming and diving team will head to Erie Community College to take on Canisius in a dual meet on Sunday.
Canisius dropped its last meet (Nov. 5) to Colgate, 154-145. Cassie Brousseau placed first in the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:00.21 and Marissa Watroba finished first in both the 100 and 200-breaststroke with times of 1:08.56 and 2:28.53, respectively. On the diving board, Vivian Mroz took home first in the 1 and 3-meter events with scores of 246.60 and 221.15, respectively.
The Bonnies are coming off an impressive outing at the A-10 Quad Meet (Oct. 29-30) at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Over the two-day meet, the Bonnies earned a 238-133 win over La Salle and a 204-161 win against Saint Louis. Duquesne swept the competition, outscoring the Bonnies 241-124.
On Sunday, Devon McFadden finished first place with a 2:05.78 time in the 200-backstroke. The Bonnies also saw second-place finishes from Michaela Ryan in the 1650-freestyle (18:00.02), Alyssa Levac in the 100-individual medley (1:00.91) and Maria Rocchi in the 200-breaststroke (2:21.57).
Sunday's action begins at 11:00 A.M.
After the event against Canisius, the Bonnies will compete in the Zippy Invite at Akron from Dec. 2-4.
