Softball Welcomes Dayton To Joyce Field For Four-Game Set

The St. Bonaventure University softball team returns from its bye week to host Dayton in a four-game Atlantic 10 series at Joyce Field Friday and Saturday. Friday's doubleheader is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. while Saturday's first pitch is also scheduled for noon.

Fan attendance for the spring semester on campus at St. Bonaventure University is limited to SBU students, faculty and staff, and two family members per home athlete. Visiting team parents and fans are not permitted on campus. 

The Bonnies last competed April 17 and 18 on the road at Saint Louis. The Billikens were able to take the four-game series from the Bonnies, earning doubleheader sweeps both days. Saint Louis took down the Bonnies, 7-4, in game one Saturday and then 4-3 in game two. Sunday morning, the Billikens grabbed game one, 13-2. The Bonnies led Saint Louis 5-2 in game two, but the Billikens would come back to win, 7-5, completing the four-game sweep. Grace Perechinsky led the way for the Bonnies, slashing .500/.583/1.100 with two home runs and eight RBI.

Dayton enters the weekend 15-22 after falling to Western Kentucky Wednesday afternoon, 5-1. The Flyers are currently 10-6 in Atlantic 10 play and are in second place in the South Division standings behind George Washington. Megan Ward leads the Flyers at the plate, hitting .407 on the year. Addy Bullis is 8-6 in the circle, touting a 1.89 ERA.

The Bonnies close out the 2021 season with a four-game series against George Washington, beginning Saturday, May 8 at 12:00 p.m. Prior to Sunday's doubleheader, St. Bonaventure will honor its two graduating student-athletes, Alex Siebert and Abby Borkowski.
