The Bonnies were able to grab the lead in the top of the first when Grace Perechinsky scored on a wild pitch from third.

It was all Cardinals after that as they used a four-run bottom of the first to take control of the contest.

Renee Hoffman doubled home the Cardinals first run and Hailey Goins singled to score Hoffman, giving Incarnate Word a 2-1 edge.

A fielder's choice and another RBI single pushed the Cardinal lead to 4-1 after one inning.

The Cardinals got a home run off the bat of Tori Alvarez-Lopez and a two-RBI single from Maddie Boldt for a 7-1 lead.

Another single drove in two more runs for Incarnate Word, pushing its lead to 9-1 and taking the win.

Incarnate Word moves to 8-10 on the year.

Rylee Hehir earned the opening day start, working 2.2 innings (12 H, 9 R, 8 ER). Olivia Moon made her collegiate debut with 1.1 innings of work in relief, allowing just one hit.

The Big Red got on the board first in the opening inning on an RBI single of the bat of Alyssa Gonzalez.

The Bonnies quickly responded, however, when Brooke Kane-Walker lined a run-scoring single up the middle in the bottom of the first, tying the game at 1-1.

Sacred Heart grabbed the lead back in the top of the second, scoring two runs for a 3-1 score.

The Big Red soon took complete control.

An eight-run third inning capped off by a Katelyn Christian grand slam pushed the Big Red advantage to 11-1.

Six more runs in the top of the fourth solidified the 17-1 victory for Sacred Heart.

Ally Haskell made her first start of the season, working 2.2 innings. Moon entered in relief for the second straight game, pitching the final 2.1 innings.

Sacred Heart improves to 3-6 on the season.
