Bonnies Add Schultz To Softball Coaching Staff

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University softball coach Mike Threehouse has announced the addition of Alex Schultz as an assistant coach for the 2019-20 school year.  

"I am very excited and grateful that we will be adding a very talented and experienced coach to our staff," Threehouse said. "Alex's success as a player speaks for itself and her knowledge about the game and her ability as a coach will be a tremendous and needed boost to our program. I believe coach Schultz will be a big piece of the puzzle as we strive to be a postseason contender in 2020." 

Most recently, she served as assistant coach at Idaho State University, where she was a defensive coach and hitting development coach. She also organized all team travel and recruiting.

From 2014-16 she served as an assistant at St. John's University. In 2015, she helped the Red Storm to an NCAA regional appearance for the first time in program history and was part of the Big East Coaching Staff of the Year. In 2016, the team was runner-up in the Big East Tournament. 

Shultz also spent two years as an assistant coach at Colorado State University-Pueblo from 2012-14. There, she was a defensive coach, travel coordinator and camp director and worked as a liaison to the team's strength program.

Beginning in 2010, she started her coaching career working as a graduate assistant softball coach at Adams State for two years.

A 2010 graduate of the University of Maryland, was a standout player for the Terrapins during her college career where she earned First Team All-ACC.
