The St. Bonaventure University softball team travels to Rhode Island for a three-game conference match-up with the Rams. The Bonnies will compete in a Saturday doubleheader and one game Sunday, beginning at noon.

St. Bonaventure and Rhode Island last met in the 2018 season, where the Bonnies swept the Rams in the Saturday doubleheader after the third and final game was canceled on Sunday. The Bonnies took game one, 3-2, in walk-off fashion when Grace Perechinsky hit a two-out RBI single to bring in McKenna Holtz. The Bonnies earned the game two victory, 6-4. This effort was led by Holtz's 3-for-4 game.

Alexandra Piergustavo's 3-for-6 day against Fordham made her the new Bonnies leader in batting average (.303) and hits (23). She improved her batting average by almost 150 points, after batting .156 last season.

McKenna Holtz and Alexandra Deal continue to lead the Atlantic 10 in stolen bases. After the game against Fordham, Holtz moved into fourth in the A-10 in stolen bases, successfully stealing in 13-of-14 attempts. Deal now ranks fifth with 12 stolen bases on 13 attempts.

Rhode Island is currently 13-18 on the season and 2-5 in the Atlantic 10. Ari Castillo leads the Rams offense with a .380 batting average and 35 hits on the year. Rhode Island also has two of the top pitchers in the A-10. Becca Rogers has the best ERA, with 2.32 and ranks fourth in strikeouts with 75 in 75.1 innings of work. Sarah Gunderson currently ranks fifth in the A-10 in ERA at 2.65 and struck out 50 batters in 63.1 innings of play. Rhode Island was picked to finish eighth in the Atlantic 10.

The Bonnies will return to Joyce Field on April 19, for a three-game series against the George Washington. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. The third and final game is slated for Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
