The St. Bonaventure University softball team will resume conference play on the road this weekend with a three-game series against La Salle. The Bonnies will compete in a Saturday doubleheader and one game on Sunday, beginning at noon.
St. Bonaventure and La Salle last met in the 2017 season where the Bonnies split the final two games of the series, achieving an 8-6 win in game one and falling 6-2 in the second game. This will be the first matchup between the Explorers and the Bonnies since 2017.
The seniors have been the primary source of offense in the last two games for Bonaventure. Alexandra Piergustavo went 3-for-4 against Youngstown State after only playing the final inning of the first game and hitting a single. Kaitlin Caringi played the second game and went 2-for-3 at the plate. Alexandra Deal went 2-for-4 against the Penguins and is 9-for-13 in her last five games.
