Softball Hosts Dayton in Home A-10 Opener

STORYLINE
The St. Bonaventure University softball team will play its first Atlantic 10 Conference games at home this week with a three-game series against Dayton. The Bonnies will compete in a doubleheader on Thursday with game one starting at noon and game two following right after. The final game of the series will be played on Friday beginning at noon. The Bonnies scored a 4-3 win in eight innings in game one before earning a 7-2 triumph in the night cap.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies swept a doubleheader against Little Three rival Canisius Wednesday. Alexandra Deal and Grace Perechinsky each had days to remember as the Bonnies scored a 4-3 win in eight innings in game one before earning a 7-2 triumph in the night cap. 

WHEN LAST WE MET
St. Bonaventure and Dayton last met in the 2017 season where the Flyers swept the three-game series over the Bonnies at the UD Softball Stadium.

SCOUTING DAYTON
The Flyers enter this week's series with a record of 8-17 overall and 0-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, falling to Fordham in their first three-game series of the Atlantic 10 Conference season. Kyle Davidson leads the team with a .324 batting average and .410 on-base percentage Abby Ehrenbord has contributed 18 RBIs and Manda Cash leads the Atlantic 10 with 1.57 in ERA, striking out 71 in 67 innings of work.

GOLAY AMONG A-10 LEADERS
St. Bonaventure junior Olivia Golay ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 in batting average, hitting .419 on the season in her 17 starts this season. She also has an on-base percentage of .490, which ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Golay smacked her second home run of the season Sunday at George Washington.

STARTING OFF STRONG
Bonnies freshman Grace Perechinsky has started off her debut campaign strong with a batting average of .339. Perechinsky leads the Bonnies with 20 RBIs and has started in 20 out of 21 games this season.

BASE STEALIN', WHEELIN' DEALIN'
Junior Alexandra Deal leads the Bonnies in stolen bases with six stolen bases, going 9-for-10 in stolen base attempts so far this spring. Deal has also scored 15 runs this season, which is another team high. 

UP NEXT
The Bonnies are scheduled to host Youngstown State in a doubleheader at Joyce Field Wednesday, April 4. The first game is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
