The St. Bonaventure pitchers and catchers are led by two seniors. A sophomore and four freshmen make up the rest of the staff on this year's team.

The Bonnies will again be led by the battery of seniors Josie Borysevicz and Morgan Phillips. Last season, Borysevicz led the team with six wins in the circle and posted a 4.61 ERA. The native of Ashford, Conn. tossed a total of 120 innings and pitched 11 complete games for the Bonnies.

Phillips gives Bona senior leadership behind the plate, appearing in 41 games for the Brown and White last season and hit .225 on the year. Entering her fourth season with the team, Phillips has seen action in 104 career games.

"We expect our seniors to have a career year this season," head coach Mike Threehouse said. "With Josie and Morgan we are looking for big things on and off the field. They've done a good job in the offseason in both aspects."

One freshman Threehouse will be looking to make an immediate impact for the Bonnies is Grace Perechinsky. The Scranton, Pa. native will be seeing plenty of playing time in her freshman campaign, whether it is as a catcher, first base or designated hitter. She was named First Team All-State during her high school career.

"Grace Perchinsky is going to be in the lineup regardless of whether she's behind the plate or the designated hitter in the middle of the lineup," Threehouse said. "As a freshman she going to be thrown right into the fire and I expect her to have a great first year."

Sam Wood and Rylee Hehir are the other returners in Threehouse's rotation from last year. Wood appeared in 15 games and pitched 37.2 innings while Hehir pitched in 22 games, throwing 82 innings. Newcomers Grace Van Horn, Makayla Brzezinski and Sydney Burk will all be competing for innings in the circle this season.

"Grace, Makayla and Sydney are working hard," Threehouse said. "We are going to take our time with them, but they will still get some innings. Sam, a crafty lefty and Rylee will also play a big part of our rotation this season, taking some of the pressure off of Josie."

The Bonnies 2018 campaign gets underway Friday, Feb. 23 against Hartford as part of the Charleston Southern Invitational in Charleston, S.C. St. Bonaventure will play six games at in Charleston Southern Invitational Feb. 23-28, six games at the Morgan State Invitational March 2-9 and five games at the Belmont/Tennessee State Invitational March 16-18.
