Women's Soccer Falls In Season Finale To Duquesne

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team fell to Duquesne, 4-0, Sunday afternoon in the season finale at the Marra Athletics Complex.

It was a defensive battle for the first 40 minutes of the first half Sunday afternoon.

Duquesne's Ashley Rodriguez got in behind the Bona defense and was taken down in the box, earning a penalty shot in the 42nd minute. Rodriguez buried the shot to give Duquesne a 1-0 lead just before halftime.

The Dukes struck again just after halftime in the 57th minute, doubling their lead.

Duquesne's Tori Kopchak put the game out of reach for the Bonnies, scoring goals in the 61st and 78th minute, giving the Dukes the victory.

The Bonnies' two seniors, Alex Thompson and Dareion Marrison, both plan on returning next year for the traditional fall season.
