Golden Goal Sends Duquesne Past Bonnies, 1-0

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 1-0 decision to Duquesne Thursday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Complex.

Duquesne's Lauren Bell punched home the game-winning goal in the 99th minute to send the Dukes back to Pittsburgh winners.

The Bonnies (0-7-0, 0-7-0 A-10) had multiple scoring chances throughout regulation but were unable to find the back of the net.

St. Bonaventure controlled the tempo for much of the second half with multiple opportunities to get on the board.

Haylee Smith and Alex Farrance each had opportunities to punch one home but were both denied by the Duquesne goalkeeper.

The Brown and White had a great chance in the 68th when Tsianna Barnwell narrowly missed the goal, pushing her shot just over the crossbar.

In net, Mackenzie Nolan made four saves for the Bonnies. Duquesne goalkeeper Megan Virgin earned the win in net for the Dukes (2-5-1, 2-4-1 A-10).

The Bonnies and the Dukes are back in action Sunday afternoon at the Marra Complex.
