NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Two members of the St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team have been honored with the announcement of the Atlantic 10 All-Conference teams Thursday afternoon.
Sousa-Sampson started in all 18 games this season and led the team with 1,615 minutes of action. She played full time in 14 matches. The Toronto, Ontario native fired seven shots, with three on goal, and tallied an assist on the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over Youngstown State. As a freshman, Sousa-Sampson earned a spot on the A-10 All-Rookie Team. She started in 73 out of 74 games in her career, playing at least 1,600 minutes each year, and finished with five goals with four assists.
Collins, a West Des Moines, Iowa native, was a vital part of a back line that posted five shutouts this year. She started in the first 11 games before being sidelined by a season-ending injury. She is a history and economics double major with a 3.97 GPA and will be graduating a year early after landing on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll every semester of her college career.
The All-Conference teams were selected by voting of the league's coaches while the All-Academic team was picked by voting of the A-10's sports information directors.
