The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team hosts Richmond Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.

The Spiders come into Sunday after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of George Washington this past weekend. The Spiders held off the first-place Colonials for 77 minutes before GW's Allie Nornes found the back of the net with the game-winning goal, handing Richmond their third A-10 loss of the season. UR's offense is led by junior Alyssa Walker with six goals and three assists on the season. Not far behind is junior Katie Tritt with four goals and three assists. Richmond was ranked 11th in the 2019 Atlantic 10 women's soccer preseason poll.

The Bonnies are 4-1-1 at the Marra Athletics Complex in the last six meetings with the Spiders. The most recent match between the two in Western New York resulted in a 1-1 draw. Bonnies keeper Lauren Malcolm made several spectacular saves in overtime, finishing with nine stops to preserve the stalemate. Last season, the Bonnies were defeated 1-0 at Richmond.

St. Bonaventure has found much of their success on home turf this season, with a record of 3-2. The three wins all came from non-conference matchups against Buffalo, Valparaiso, and Merrimack. In the two conference losses against Saint Joseph's and Dayton, the Bonnies defense held the visitors to just one score in each game. SBU has given up a mere three goals in five games at home so far this season. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Malcolm has averaged 6.2 saves per game and boasts a .903 save percentage at the Marra Athletics Complex.

Atlantic 10 defending champion and preseason favorite Saint Louis jumped on top early and never looked back en route to a 3-0 victory over the Bonnies this past weekend. It took just 7:08 for the Billikens to show why they are one of the nation's top teams. Hannah Friedrich took advantage of a ball popped into the box from Emily Groark, heading a shot past the keeper for a 1-0 lead. Saint Louis doubled its advantage just under four minutes later, using a corner to score. Isabel Burke completed the set piece with a shot into the net for a 2-0 advantage. Evie Lavelle scored with a sliding shot for a 3-0 lead 29 minutes in and that would be more than enough for the hosts. The Billikens dominated every category, firing 19 shots and never allowing the Bonnies any offensive traction with just one shot on the day.

The Brown and White's next matchup will be on Thursday, Oct. 17 when they host Rhode Island. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
