ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer fell to Saint Joseph's, 1-0, on a late goal in the second half Thursday evening at the Marra Athletics Complex.
The Hawks (4-5-1, 1-1 Atlantic 10) broke through in the 74th minute of the game when Kylie D'Ambra found the back of the net, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
A strong performance in net from senior goalkeeper Lauren Malcolm and her six saves kept the game scoreless in the first 45 minutes of the contest.
The Bonnies (4-6-0, 0-2) put together their best chance of the first half early. Freshman Christine Napoli sent a rocket just over the crossbar in the 12th minute as Bona narrowly missed grabbing the lead.
Sydney Cerza had a chance in the closing minutes to knot up the contest, but was turned away by the Saint Joseph's goalkeeper.
Napoli led the Bonnies offense with two shots on the night.
The Bonnies are back in action Sunday, Sept. 29 on the road at Davidson. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
