The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team hosts Buffalo Friday evening in the home opener at the Marra Athletics Complex. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.

ABOUT BUFFALO
After dropping their season opener 1-0 to Navy on August 22, the Bulls come into Friday looking to even up their 0-1 record to start the season. Buffalo is coming off its fifth straight trip to the Mid-American Conference Tournament last season, finishing with an 11-8 overall record and a 5-7 record in the MAC. UB returns three of their top four goal scorers from last season in Marcy Barberic, Kaitlyn Walsh and Gianna Yurchak as well as the trio of defenders of Gurjeena Jandu, Adrianna VanCuyck and Tess Ford. Also returning is sophomore goalkeeper Emily Kelly, who earned All-Freshman team honors last year. Buffalo was picked to finish fourth in the 2019 preseason MAC Soccer Poll.

RIDING A VICTORY
The Bonnies are coming off their first win of the season after defeating Youngstown State 3-1 last Sunday. Senior forward Sydney Cerza put the Bonnies ahead early with her first goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 25th minute. Not to be outdone, senior forward Bella May netted her first goal of the season to give the Bonnies a 2-0 lead. Freshman midfielder Christine Napoli capped off the Bonnies' win with her first collegiate goal as they handed the Penguins their first loss of the season.

FAMILIAR FACE IN NET
Senior goalkeeper Lauren Malcolm enters Friday fifth in program history with 58 career games in net. She currently sits fourth in program history with 378 career saves and is chasing Margaret Reif for third all-time in career saves (426). Karen Cunningham (543) and Brooke Lang (474) hold the top two ranks in the record book for career saves. Malcolm is also sixth all-time in shutouts (8) and holds three of the top-12 spots in single season saves all-time.
