THE OPPONENT: BINGHAMTON

SERIES HISTORY: BINGHAMTON
In recent seasons, the Bonnies have faced a familiar foe to open the year - Binghamton. In each of the last four years, the Bonnies and Bearcats have opened their seasons with one another. St. Bonaventure is seeking its first victory in those season openers vs. Binghamton, going 0-2-2 in the past four. In 2015, the Bonnies struck for a first half goal and a 1-0 lead at intermission, but the Bearcats scored in the 49th and 70th minutes to push ahead late for a 2-1 victory. The following season, Bona again held a 1-0 lead at the half, but a second half tally from the visitors ultimately sent the teams to a 1-1 tie. Two years ago in Binghamton, the Bonnies again grabbed the early lead, but it would be Binghamton that seized a 2-1 victory. Last season, Binghamton started out red hot, grabbing a 3-0 second half lead. The Bonnies would roar back, though, scoring three times in the final 29 minutes to force a 3-3 double overtime draw. Sydney Cerza and Sabrina Sousa-Sampson each tallied goals last year.
THE OPPONENT: YOUNGSTOWN STATE
The Penguins struggled to a 1-13-3 record and 0-7-2 mark in the Horizon League last year. YSU was picked to finish ninth in the 10-team Horizon League by vote of the league coaches in preseason. The Penguins had two exhibition matches – the squad dropped a home contest to Ohio (6-1) and a road friendly at Buffalo (2-0).
Both of this weekend's matches will be available on the ESPN+ platform. Check the links above to watch the streams provided by both home universities.
