ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University women's soccer senior Gretta LaCouture has earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), officials have announced.
A First Team selection from District 1, including nominees from the states of New York, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont, LaCouture was one of 12 players selected for recognition from the region.
LaCouture, a native of Denver, Co., is a health science major with a 3.987 cumulative GPA.
A four-year member of the Bonnies, LaCouture played in 64 games including 26 starts during her career. This past season, she was a starter in 16 matches and tallied her first two career goals in a 3-3 draw vs. UMass Lowell. Overall, she logged 842 minutes during the 2018 campaign.
This is the second year in a row a Bonnie has received the award. Last season, Sydney Cassagnol, landed on the first team after posting a 3.912 cumulative GPA while logging over 1700 total minutes.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where All-America honorees will be announced in December. The awards are nominated by and voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
