WASHINGTON, D.C. – Host George Washington scored just before halftime and added insurance early in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon over the St. Bonaventure women's soccer team.
Just 33 seconds before intermission, GW (8-3-1, 3-1 Atlantic 10) notched the first score of the match when Deena DeSilva fed a pass to Kelly Amador who made a diving strike into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
The Colonials added a second goal for complete control of the match at the 53-minute mark and never looked back.
Bonnies goalkeeper Lauren Malcolm picked up her 200th career save on the afternoon, finishing with six stops Sunday.
St. Bonaventure remains on the road with a trip to Fordham on Thursday.
