AMHERST, Mass. — The St. Bonaventure Bonnies women's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2021 season with a 27-2 loss at No. 24 UMass Friday afternoon.
The Bonnies (2-10, 0-8 A-10) couldn't stay with a talented UMass squad, falling behind 7-0 in the first 11 minutes of the game, and eventually facing an 18-1 halftime deficit.
Teri Manzelli and Julia Davidson both got into the scoring column. For Manzelli, it was her first of the season, and for Davidson, it was the graduating senior's fourth of the season and the 33rd of her career.
UMass (11-2, 6-0) fired off 46 shots on the day and won 28 of 30 draw controls.
With the season coming to a close, the book also closes on the career of two players, Destinee Johnson and Clarke, that will finish in the SBU record books.
Johnson finished with 89 career points (19th in school history), 56 goals (19th) and 33 assists (tied-12th) while Clarke finished with 282 career saves (sixth).
