Former Bonnies Standout Jalen Middlebrooks Named Head Coach at Edinboro

EDINBORO, Pa. - St. Bonaventure alumna Jalen Middlebrooks, '17, has been named head women's lacrosse coach at Edinboro University.

Middlebrooks previously served as an assistant with Edinboro, a member of the Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, for the past two seasons.

"I love these girls and what they bring to this program. I believe in them and whatever they aspire to be," said Middlebrooks, who went on to garner second team All-A10 accolades while at St. Bonaventure. "One of the greatest feelings as a coach is seeing your players grow not only on the lacrosse field but as people off the field. This is a tremendous steppingstone, and I am up for the challenge."

Middlebrooks ranks fifth in Bonnies history with 78 caused turnovers during her four seasons in Brown and White. She also stands 11th in program history with 120 groundballs. She graduated from St. Bonaventure in 2017 and holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology.

She succeeds former Edinboro head coach - and another former Bonnie, LeighAnn Stauffer, '17. Stauffer recently left Edinboro to return to the Atlantic 10 as an assistant coach on staff at George Washington. Stauffer stands 15th in St. Bonaventure history with 115 career points and also ranks 12th in career goals (95) and third in draw controls (135) while also earning All-Atlantic 10 honors during her Bona's career. Stauffer earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology in May of 2017 and holds Masters in Education and Educational Psychology.
