DAVIDSON, N.C. — The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team dropped their 2019 season finale, 21-2, to the Davidson Wildcats Saturday at Richardson Stadium.
Davidson took control of the game right out of the gate. The Wildcats got on the board first at the 26:35 mark of the first half, and scored six more times over the next nine minutes to open up a 7-0 lead.
The Bonnies (1-16, 0-9 Atlantic 10) broke the Davidson scoring run at the 14:16 mark when senior Olivia MacDonald scored her 10th goal of the season and 40th point of her career from the free position.
That would be the Bonnies' lone goal of the first half as the Wildcats finished the opening 30 minutes on a 5-0 run to take a 12-1 lead into the break.
The second half was the same story.
Davidson scored nine straight goals to open up a 21-1 cushion as the Wildcats continued to dominate. The Bonnies scored once more before time ticked down. Senior Rylee Arnold netted the 78th goal of her career and 97th point with a free position goal at the 1:16 mark.
The Wildcats (8-9, 2-7 A-10) dominated every statistical category, leading in shots by a 40-9 margin including 29 shots on goal. Davidson went a perfect 17-for-17 in clear attempts and owned an 18-7 advantage in draw controls. Seven Davidson players scored multiple goals, paced by five from Sophia Sgroi who also posted 15 draw controls in an impressive effort.
This was the final game for the Bonnies five seniors Arnold, MacDonald, Kathryn Yoder, Abby Lagoner and Aniesah Miller. Yoder came up with two caused turnovers to extend her career total to 120, second-most in program history.
In net, Savannah Clarke played all 60 minutes for the 17th time this season, which brought her season minutes total to 1020. She added eight saves to finish the year at 164
