The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team begins its 2019 season Feb. 10. Leading up to the season, will preview the team by position. In this edition, the Bonnies attack is featured.

Goalkeepers and Defense || Midfield

15 Sarah Sinsebox - Freshman (West Henrietta, N.Y.)
20 Ashley Easterday - Sophomore Woolwich Township (N.J.)

24 Olivia MacDonald - Senior (Williamsville, N.Y.)
26 Avery Teeple - Junior (Ontario, Canada)
33 Caroline Paterno - Freshman (State College, Pa.)

With experience lacking in the defensive and midfield groups, St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse head coach Chelsea Rosiek has a backbone of leadership in the attack group that she's looking to lean on in 2019.

"Depth-wise, we're in a great spot," Rosiek said. "We're very much intact in terms of major contributors from last season. It's exciting to have everyone back with a full season of experience under their belts."

The highlight of the group is senior Rylee Arnold. Last season, Arnold led the team with 26 goals and 32 points. She was also a consistent force, finding the back of the net in 12 of 14 games and scoring multiple goals eight games. Arnold enters the season with 50 career goals, just the 21st player in Bonnies history to reach that milestone.

"Rylee is a clear leader both on and off the field," Rosiek said. "When we're talking about trying to turn a corner and find a more competitive dynamic against Atlantic 10 conference opponents, she is the perfect player to have leading the way."

The other key cogs to the offense are sophomores Ashley Easterday, who was second on the team with 20 goals, 11 assists and 31 points last year, and Julia Davidson, who scored an impressive 11 goals in her freshman campaign.

"Julia was a key player off the bench in 2018 and I am excited for her to assume a starting role for the 2019 season," Rosiek said. "She is such a smart and dynamic attacker, and I can't wait to see what she does this year."

Two other top contributors are senior Oliva MacDonald, who started nine games and scored eight goals while three assists, and junior Avery Teeple who started one game and saw action in seven.

"Olivia is capable of having a great year," Rosiek said. "She had three games last year where she had a hat trick, but if she can become a more consistent player she can really be great for us."

Teeple is still recovering from a knee injury, but Rosiek said she's excited to get her back as a consistent, reliable member of the offense.

The final returning player is Abby Lagoner who's in her fourth year with the program.

Despite the veteran depth, freshman Caroline Paterno is also expected to make an impact in her first season.

"She will see some time as a low attack and she can learn a lot from the veterans above her," Rosiek said.

The other freshman in the group is Sarah Sinsebox, a West Henrietta, N.Y. native who finished her high school career last year in a strong campaign that saw her score 25 goals while adding 20 assists and causing 30 turnovers.

St. Bonaventure opens its 2019 season Feb. 10 at home against Lafayette.
