AMHERST,MASS - The Umass Minutewomen built an early 8-0 lead and cruised to an 18-4 win over St. Bonaventure Friday afternoon.
St. Bonaventure got on the board with 16:15 left in the first half when Rylee Arnold scored an unissisted goal to make the score 8-1. The Bonnies would surrender three more goals before Julia Davidson took a feed from Gabrielle Bradley for the Bonnies second goal of the first-half. Umass led 11-2 at the break.
The Bonnies started the second half strong. Kristine Wallace and Ashley Easterday each scored goals within the first five minutes of the second half. Unfortuntely for St. Bonaventure, their struggles continued in the second half. Umass held St. Bonaventure scoreless over the final 25 minutes of the game to secure the victory.
With the win, Umass improved to 8-3 over and 3-0 in confernece play. St. Bonaventure drops to 0-11 and 0-3 in Atlantic 10 play.
The Bonnies defense was tested often as Umass put 32 of its 39 shots on goal. St. Bonavenutre would only manage 9 shots on goal.
In the net, senior Morgan Conroy played all 60 minutes, making 14 saves.
