Late Surge Pushes Siena Past St. Bonaventure

ALBANY, NY - The Bonnies battled back from a three-goal deficit with less than 20 minutes to play, but two late goals from Siena were too much to overcome, as the Bonnies would eventually fall to Siena in this one, 12-11.

A tight match over the first 20 minutes, as both teams traded goals. St. Bonaventure would receive first half tallies from Kyra O'Gorman, Kristine Wallace, Rylee Arnold, Gabrielle Bradley and Ashley Easterday.

With 8:32 left in the first half, Siena would pull ahead scoring three goals to close out the half, including a goal with only 22 seconds remaining. The saints would carry a 9-5 advantage into the break.

St. Bonaventure started the second half strong. O'Gorman netted her second goal of the game to make the score 9-6. Siena would have an answer like they did for much of this game to push the deficit back to four goals, 10-6.

With the clock reading 25:21, St. Bonaventure would make its move. Four straight goals would knot the score up for the first time since it was 3-3 with 19 minutes left in the first half. Avery Teeple, Arnold, Olivia McDonald and Wallace would all score goals to spur the St. Bonaventure offense.

Unfortunately, Siena would once again have an answer. The Saints would score two goals to push ahead, 12-10 with 10:43 left in the game. Easterday would cut the deficit in half with 2:47 on the clock, but the Bonnies were unable to get the equalizer falling to the Saints 12-11.

With the Loss, St. Bonaventure drops its overall record to 0-8. With the win, Siena pushes it's win streak to four games and improves its overall record to 4-3.

St. Bonaventure saw four players score two goals. Junior Rylee Arnold led the charge netting two goals and adding a pair of assists. Easterday, O'Gorman and Wallace each added a pair of goals.

Senior Gabrielle Bradley scored a goal and added two assists on the afternoon while Olivia MacDonald and Avery Teeple each added a goal apiece.

In net, senior Morgan Conroy would take the loss facing 30 shots and making 18 saves.

St. Bonaventure will begin conference play, as the team will make the short trip to Pittsburgh, Pa. to face Duquesne Thursday afternoon. Start time is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
