San Diego, CA – The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team dropped its west coast finale to the Aztecs of San Diego State by a final score of 19-3.
After an early 1-1 tie, the Aztecs took control scoring the games next nine goals over a 10-minute span to take a commanding 10-1 lead.
San Diego would add three more goals to take a 13-2 lead into half-time.
The Aztecs would start the second half much like they did the first, scoring the first six goals. Maggie Sweeney added a goal with 47 seconds left for the Bonnies third and final goal of the contest.
St. Bonaventure's first goal came just four minutes into the game when Rylee Arnold continued her solid season, netting an unassisted goal.
Senior Kerrigan Cummins got the start in the cage for the Bonnies. She played the first 12:18, surrendering nine goals and taking the loss.
Cummins was replaced by freshman Savannah Clarke who played the final 46:55, making eight saves.
Defense continues to be an issue for the Bonnies, as they are surrendering an average of 17.75 goals per game over the first four games of the season.
UP NEXT: The Bonnies will travel back to the East coast to play at Lafayette on Saturday, March 10. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
