ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University has announced the addition of a pair of assistant coaches – Allison Stathius with the women's lacrosse program and Beka Buchukuri with Bonnies tennis.
Stathius joins the women's lacrosse program, working with head coach Chelsea Rosiek. A recent graduate of Monmouth University, she was an all-conference performer with the Hawks. She finished her career with 91 goals and 122 total points, starting 65 of 76 games during her four seasons with Monmouth. Stathius earned First Team All-MAAC honors as a junior, leading the team with 39 points that season, and completed her collegiate career with Second Team All-MAAC honors last spring. She has previously worked as a coach with South Jersey Select Lacrosse as well as Ultimate Lacrosse Club in Princeton, N.J. Stathius also was nominated for the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Woman of the Year last spring and was a member of the National College Athletic Honor Society.
Buchukuri will assist men's and women's tennis head coach Michael Bates after a playing career at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester. He graduated from Roberts Wesleyan in May 2014 and compiled a record of 22-20 playing first singles and second doubles in 2012-13, moving his record at RWC to 78-57. Buchukuri is a native of Tbilisi, Georgia.
St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse begins the 2016 season Feb. 20 at Delaware State. The spring seasons for the Bonnies men's and women's tennis teams are currently underway.
