Ryan Phillips is in his second season with the St. Bonaventure women's basketball program after officially being named to the coaching staff in September 2018.
Phillips joined St. Bonaventure after serving on the staff at the University of Wisconsin where he served as a video coordinator and interim assistant coach for two years. He helped contribute to the development of three Big Ten All-Conference student-athletes and assisted in the Badgers' first conference tournament win in the last four seasons.
Prior to Wisconsin, he was a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Director Of Basketball Operations at George Washington University. During his two years, the Colonials were 55-11, two-time Atlantic 10 regular season and conference champions and earned back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He provided advanced scouting reports using video and helped in the development of 2015 A-10 Player of the Year Jonquel Jones as well as four all-conference players.
Phillips also served as an advanced scout for the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA during the 2015 season.
As an undergrad, he attended Guilford College where he served as a student assistant coach before graduating in 2014. Over a two-year stretch, the Quakers were 45-12 and earned a berth into the Division III NCAA Tournament after winning the 2013 Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship. He aided in preparing scouting reports and played an active role in on-campus recruiting.
Over his career, Phillips has also worked as a player development intern for the University of Maryland and as a game day operations center intern for the Atlantic Coast Conference. He has also served as a basketball camp counselor at Clemson, Maryland, UNC-Charlotte and Wake Forest.
