ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – I'yanna Lops, a 6-3 forward, has signed an athletics grant-in-aid and will transfer to St. Bonaventure University, Bonnies head coach Jesse Fleming announced.
Lops is a mid-season transfer from Cal State Bakersfield where she spent one semester of her freshman season. Lops will sit the remainder of the 2019-20 season and the fall semester of the 2020-21 season. She will be eligible to play in spring of 2021 and will have two and a half years of eligibility remaining.
Lops was a graduate of Trinity Catholic High School (Conn.) where she scored over 1,000 career points and helped lead her squad to a state championship during the 2018-19 season. Also at Trinity Catholic, Lops was first-team All-State, a three-time all-league selection and was a Gatorade Player of the Year nominee. Lops was tabbed as the media's league Player of the Year, the media's Defensive Player of the Year and Ruden's Report Player of the Year.
A native of Stamford, Conn., Lops saw time in six games with the Roadrunners this past fall, averaging 2.8 points per game while playing an average of 8.7 minutes per contest.
