NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure graduate student Mckenna Maycock has earned Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors after keying back-to-back Bonnies victories this past week.
Maycock averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and shot 53 percent from the floor (16-for-30) as well as 52 percent from distance (11-for-21) during wins over Rhode Island and George Mason in Atlantic 10 play.
At Rhode Island last Wednesday, she tallied career highs in scoring (24 points), field goals made (nine) and three-pointers (six) as she powered an 84-68 road victory.
Against George Mason at home Sunday, she again led the team with 19 points, adding eight rebounds as the Bonnies secured their third victory in a row.
For the season, the Randolph, N.Y. native averages 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
It marks Maycock's first career Atlantic 10 Player of the Week award.
Along with Maycock, freshman Deja Francis also landed on the Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll for the fourth time in the past five weeks. Francis averaged 11.0 points and 5.5 assists in the Bonnies victories last week.
The Bonnies are back in action Wednesday night at home, welcoming VCU to the Reilly Center at 7 p.m.
